Holly Hunter is an American actress and producer well recognized by her highly commendable performances in films like Broadcast News The Firm The Piano and The Incredibles. Her film Piano was awarded an Oscar. Actresses have a lengthy history of working on Broadway, Off-Broadway and other projects. From her early years she's been passionate about acting. She portrayed Helen Keller as a fifth-grade pupil in a school performance. After suffering from the mumps, she became blind on the other side of her ear. This did not stop her ambition to pursue a career as an actress. The college she attended was drama, and then moved from Pittsburgh to New York City to follow her dreams. Hunter was trapped in the elevator of the playwright Beth Henley when she met her. Together they created Broadway Crimes of the Heart in which Hunter made her Broadway debut. Her first role in film came after she relocated to Los Angeles. Over the past three decades, since her time in Los Angeles she has appeared featured in a variety of series and television films. Holly Hunter received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and she also received her the Women in Film Lucy Award.
